#2B Three Significant Events

An important event that had an impact on my current career goals is meeting my Communication professor Mrs. Vick at NOVA. Her teaching persuaded me to pursue the field of Communication. If I had not met her I would still probably be trying to finish up an associate’s degree in Business Administration at NOVA.

Another important event that had an impact on my career goals is probably when I read my first book. I don’t remember which book it was, but I know that it sparked my interest in becoming a writer. When I young I would always write little fiction stories on a pad of paper. I really wanted to become an author of fiction books when I grew up. Even though I don’t currently want an author to be my main job now, I do hope to write a few books during my life.

The last event that I believe helped to shape my career goals
was a writing assignment I had when I was in third grade living in Vermont. I believe we had to write a story about a trip we took. I decided to write my paper about my hike up Mt. Mansfield, a mountain in Vermont. When I turned in the assignment and my teacher read it, she told both my parents and me that my writing was astounding for someone in my grade. That was definitely an enormous boost to my confidence in my abilities to write.
