Article Summary #8 Opinion

I don’t necessarily agree with Owens’s opinion that there is disconnect when singing in a language other than your native language. When I was in high school, I sang in two choirs and participated in several choral events. Many times we sang pieces in other languages, such as Latin and Spanish, and I actually felt more connected to the songs. I think it is because I was really thinking about what I was singing since I was singing in a language other than English.
